PROJECTS UNDERTAKING:
1. NRO have succeeded in organizing over One Thousand Two-Hundred and Twenty Seven (1,227) Fishermen along the largest manmade Lake in the world known as the VOLTA LAKE (VL) in Ghana West Africa. These fishing folks are noted in using Child Labourers (CL) in most of their fishing business which is against international norms. So, NRO have taking it upon itself as a task to organized and educate these fishermen the act of modern and environmentally friendly Aquaculture. These we believe will empower them financially and broaden their mindset to operate their business scientifically.
These Twenty-five (25) years project started in 21st March 2007 and now that the organizational structures have been laid we look forward to set-up the Aquaculture training centre in 2010 at Akateng in the Eastern Region of Ghana. And start our 50 Cages Demonstration Aqua Farm there and give 100 or more pilot Cages to the fishermen on credit bases as a revolving scheme.
2. Our NGO have trained 19 youths in Somanya a town in the Eastern Region Ghana in Batik, Tie & Die, Pomade making, Liquid and Bar Soap making, Screen printing etc in March 2007 but due to lack of funds these training have stop.
3. We organized and distributed over 55,000 Moringa Seeds and Seedling to the people of Wli communities near Hohoe and Juapong Kluma all in the Volta Region of Ghana as environmental protection measure and alternative livelihood of the people but due to lack of funds to process the Moringa and market it at higher commercial value put the project in a hold and we look forward for funding to continue these projects which started in 2008.
4. NRO have distributed donated Books from International Book Project of USA to Lamp of God Preparatory School of Asesewa and Mends International School of Akateng in 2009 respectively.
5. Currently NRO team of expert have also surveyed the Upper Manya Krobo District (UMKD) of the Eastern Region of Ghana to see how best to arrest the fast environmental degradation going on there and we have writing reports and proposal to that effect.
A. To promote Organic farming instead of Chemical ones which render the land useless within the third conservative terms in use and cause a lot of health hazards to the consumer of these food produce.
B. The urgent need to encourage Mango plantations to protect the mountains and River bodies in the valleys.
C. The vast Aquaculture potential of the district need to be enhanced to make Asesewa and other surrounding towns and villages market vibrant this will go a long way to create jobs to the women and youth in the district.
D. NRO have also suggested to the District Administration the need to trained the youth in Skills like Batik, Tie & Die etc which there have agreed but waiting for funding from their Common Fund allocation from the central Government etc
